How the book gets DONE — not just read
"This Tuesday's list"
Every chapter ends with 3–7 items sized to fit inside an ordinary
week. No item needs a free weekend, a big budget, or special skills.
Here's Chapter 1's, verbatim:
This Tuesday's list — Chapter 1
- Write down the last three disruptions your household actually
had (repair, bill, outage, job change) and what each one cost. This
is your personal evidence of what "Tuesday" looks like.
- Press the test button on every smoke and CO alarm in your home.
30 seconds each.
- Find your main water shutoff and your electrical panel. Show one
other person where they are.
- Put $20 in small bills in an envelope. It is the first brick of
the cash stash you'll finish in Chapter 3.
- Pick your path — the weekend sprint or the 52-Tuesday routine —
and write your choice inside the front cover.
- Note your current checking balance. You'll want it open in front
of you for Chapter 2.
Twenty chapters × one list each = a household that gets measurably
readier every single week — or run Chapter 20's condensed First Weekend
and do the core in two days.
